Minn. St., Mankato Beats Alaska-Anchorage 3-0

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota State, Mankato goalie Stephon Williams dominated Alaska-Anchorage for the second straight night as the Mavericks beat the Seawolves 3-0 Saturday.

Williams made 16 saves to get the shutout in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association game. On Friday, he led MSUM (9-5-2, 6-6-0) to a 3-2 win.

Defensively the Mavericks held UAA (3-7-4, 1-6-3) to just 16 shots. The most the Seawolves had in any one period was seven. MSUM took 35 shots on goal and UAA goalie Chris Kamal made 32 stops.

Nine different players scored points for MSUM. Chase Grant, Eriah Hayes and Zach Lehrke had goals.
