MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A homeless man died Saturday afternoon after he slipped into the Mississippi River, authorities say.
The man’s friend had seen him slip into the river, ran for help, and even located a fire truck and two Minneapolis firefighters.
But it was too late. Even though the victim was found just 15 feet from shore, he wasn’t alive when the firefighter pulled in his body from the river near 18th Avenue and Marshall Street NE in Minneapolis.
