MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – University of Minnesota sophomore Rachel Banham earned Big Ten Conference honors after helping lead the Gopher women’s basketball team to three victories last week.
Banham, from Lakeville, was named the Big Ten Co-Player of the Week after the Gophers beat Denver, the University of Missouri-Kansas City and Robert Morris. In those games, Banham averaged 20.7 points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals.
Banham had 21 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals in the win over Denver. She added 29 points in the win over UMKC. It’s the second time Banham has earned the player of the week honor and first this season.
The Gophers (9-3) are off until Dec. 21, when they host Northern Iowa at Williams Arena.
