MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Despite the snowstorm that hit the Twin Cities metro on Sunday, the Holidazzle parade went on as planned Sunday night in downtown Minneapolis.
And one Twin Cities man couldn’t have been more relieved that it went on. James Hicks had planned to propose to his long-time girlfriend during the parade.
When Santa’s float stopped in front of the Dakota Jazz Club, Santa made an announcement asking Hicks and his girlfriend, Christen Blue, to come out. He expressed his love for her and asked her to marry him.
The couple has been dating for two years, and she said yes before he could even get down on one knee. It was actually the second proposal at Holidazzle over the weekend.
