MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A wrongful death lawsuit will be filed soon in the case of a 9-year-old boy who died after swimming in a Stillwater Lake.
Jack Ariola Erenberg was swimming in Lily Lake last summer when he contracted a rare form of meningitis. Now, officials say his family plans to sue the city, county and state for $1.5 million. There will be a court hearing Friday.
The family wants the city to post signs at similar lakes, warning of the amoeba that caused Jack’s death. He was the second child to contract the rare infection after swimming in Lily Lake.
