MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating after an apparent threat was made against a school in Rush City on Tuesday.
Administrators with the school district put a notice on their web site that a rumor on social media had threats of violence planned for Rush City High School on Tuesday. Rush City is located north of Cambridge close to the Wisconsin border.
The Chisago County Sheriff’s Office was at the school on Monday investigating the threats and determined that no tangible threats to students or staff at the school exist. The sheriff’s office will have an officer at the high school on Tuesday as a precautionary measure.
The school district said it puts the safety of its students and staff as its first and highest priority.
