OLD DUTCH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

The junior three-sport athlete from Pine City is having an outstanding wrestling season. Competing at 220 pounds, he has a record of 9-0 with eight pins. At last weekend’s Mackey Duals in Maple, Wis., Favorito pinned five opponents in a combined time of only 8 minutes, 51 seconds. He has been on the varsity wrestling team since ninth grade, although he sat out last season due to a knee injury. Favorito also participates in football and golf. He received the Patrick Bombard award at the recent varsity football banquet, an award that represents an underclassman’s excellence on the offensive line. He also was named captain of the 2013-14 football team.
