MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – If you are out and about shopping today, and you see one of the Salvation Army’s Red Kettles, consider making a donation.
“We have a triple match going on and we’re really excited,” said spokesperson Annette Bauer. “We’ve raised enough to get half of it, so we need the other half.”
So far, Bauer said they have gotten $500,000, but still have a ways to go.
“Today, we need to raise $160,000 in order to get the other half,” she said.
Bauer said they hope this match spurs giving, because in the last several days, they’ve been under what they typically see in the kettles.
“People are crazy busy buying stuff for Christmas,” she said. “We hope that they remember other people who are not able to shop.”
If you can’t make a donation in one of the kettles, Bauer said you can still donate online by clicking here.
