MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Gophers will be without one of their emerging wide receives as they face Texas Tech in the Meineke Car Care Bowl later this week.
Coach Jerry Kill announced Monday that freshman wide receiver Andre McDonald will not play in the bowl game due to a violation of team policy. McDonald saw action in eight games for the Gophers, catching 10 passes for 121 yards.
McDonald was one of the state’s most highly-touted recruits coming into the season. Minnesota heads into the game with a 6-6 record. The Gophers and Texas Tech play Friday in Houston, Texas.
