EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — There is one game left in the regular season for Adrian Peterson, and so much remains on the line.
First and foremost, a win on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers would put his Minnesota Vikings into the playoffs for the first time since the 2009 season.
The hallowed milestones of 2,000 yards rushing, and Eric Dickerson’s single-season mark of 2,105 yards, are within reach as well. Peterson is 102 yards away from 2,000 and needs 208 against the Packers to break Dickerson’s record.
He is also in the mix to become the first non-quarterback to win the MVP award since LaDainian Tomlinson in 2006, and Peterson is confident that he’s going to be the one to do it.
