ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) — Mark McGowan scored the game-winning goal with 2:12 left to play as Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute beat St. Cloud State 4-3 Thursday in men’s college hockey.
Milos Bubela scored two goals in less than three minutes in the second period as the Engineers (5-6-4) went up 3-2 heading into the third period.
Cory Thorson tied it for the Huskies (11-8-0) at 12:33 of the third period.
Mike Zalewski had three assists for RPI, which got 11 saves from Jason Kasdorf and eight from Scott Diebold.
Ryan Faragher had 17 saves for the Huskies, who got goals from Jonny Brodzinski and Kalle Kossila.
St. Cloud State leads the Western Collegiate Hockey Association while RPI is 3-2-2 in its last seven games.
The Huskies outshot RPI 22-21. They have outshot their last seven games.
