MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 10-year-old girl is dead after a sledding accident that happened west of the Twin Cities on Thursday, authorities said.
Authorities say the girl was from North Carolina, but was visiting her grandparents for the holidays. She was sledding down a hill in the town of Dassel with other children when her sled hit a stump and was ejected.
Authorities said the girl died at a local hospital. Investigators said all the children were being watched by adults, and the incident appears to be a tragic accident.
The girl’s name has not yet been released.
