Man Dies From Injuries After Mpls. Stabbing

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — One man is dead after suffering injuries in an apparent stabbing Saturday in Minneapolis.

Officers were dispatched to an apartment building on 5754 33rd Ave. S. on a report of a stabbing. When they arrived, they found 54-year-old Tjioyan Funderburke inside. He was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Funderburke died several hours later from his injuries.

At this time, police don’t have any suspects in custody. Preliminary investigation indicates there is no threat to public safety.

The case has been assigned to investigators from the Minneapolis Police Department’s Homicide Unit. If anyone has information regarding the incident, they are asked to contact the tip line at (612) 692-8477.
