MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minneapolis Police are looking for a suspect after a woman was apparently sexually assaulted in her home on Tuesday.

Authorities said the incident happened at about 5 a.m. Tuesday at a residence near the area of East 31st Street and 18th Avenue South in Minneapolis. Police said the suspect got into the residence by cutting a screen on an unlocked window.

An adult female in the home was sexually assaulted before the suspect fled the residence, police said. Authorities describe the suspect as a black man about 20 to 30 years old, 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a medium build.

Police said the suspect was wearing a black baseball cap with an unknown symbol on it and a black jacket with the basketball team “Nicks” on the back as well as dark, baggie jeans. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Minneapolis Police at (612) 673-2881.
