Antoine Winfield tried to play last Sunday against the Green Bay Packers at Mall of America Field. However, he did not play a significant amount of the game. The hand swelled and did not allow him to finish the game.

The Vikings will determine his status for Saturday’s game at Lambeau Field later in the week. The determination for his availability may be how much swelling there is in the hand.

CB Antoine Winfield (hand)
The 14th-year veteran did not practice Tuesday or Wednesday. He has been on the injury report every week since Week 5 with a knee injury, but has not missed a game. The knee has heeled but, the broken hand suffered in Week 16 against the Houston Texans has limited his availability. Vikings coaches believe he will be able to play. He has 100 tackles, half a sack, 12 passes defensed, three interceptions and one fumble recovery.

DE Jared Allen (shoulder)
The ninth-year veteran was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice. He was injured during the Week 10 win over the Detroit Lions. He has been on the injury list in previous weeks, but has not missed a game. He has 45 tackles, 12 sacks, three passes defensed, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble this season.

CB A.J. Jefferson (ankle)
The third-year veteran was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice. He was injured in Sunday’s win over the Packers, but did not miss time during the game. He was inactive for just one game this season.

DE George Johnson (quadriceps)
The third-year veteran was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice. He was injured in Sunday’s win over the Packers. He was lifted from the practice squad to the active roster prior to the win over the Texans. He has not recorded any statistics in limited playing time over the last two games.

P Chris Kluwe (left knee)
The eighth-year veteran was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice. He was injured in the Week 8 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and has been on the injury report since. He has not missed a game and averages 45 yards per punt with 18 downed inside the opponent’s 20-yard line.

OT Phil Loadholt (knee)
The fourth-year veteran was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice. He was injured during the Week 12 loss to the Chicago Bears, but has not missed a game this season.

LB Tyrone McKenzie (shoulder)
The second-year veteran did not practice Tuesday or Wednesday. He was injured in Sunday’s win. He has 12 tackles and a forced fumble this season. It does not look like he will be able to play Saturday. If he is not able to play, Audie Cole would likely be his replacement on special teams and as a reserve linebacker.

RB Adrian Peterson (abdomen)
The sixth-year veteran did not practice Tuesday or Wednesday. He has been on the injury report every week this season, but has not missed a game. He has 2,097 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns while catching 40 passes for 217 yards and a touchdown this season. He is not expected to miss the game.

QB Christian Ponder (elbow)
The second-year veteran was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice. He was injured while making a throw during Sunday’s win over the Packers. He has 2,935 yards, 18 passing touchdowns, 12 interceptions, 253 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. He is not expected to miss Saturday’s game.

DE Brian Robison (shoulder)

The six-year veteran was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice. He was injured early in the Week 15 win over the St. Louis Rams. He has 37 tackles, 8.5 sacks, seven passes defensed, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He is not expected to be limited by the injury in Saturday’s game.

S Harrison Smith (knee)

He has 103 tackles, one sack, 11 passes defensed, three interceptions, two return touchdowns, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He is not expected to miss time.

The Vikings list probable as a 75 percent chance the player will play, questionable means it is 50 percent, doubtful is 25 percent and out means the player will not play. Status’ were not given due to Saturday’s game.
