MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time to start planning some weekend fun.

We found some great events from ice skating to home improvement that you’ll want to add to your social calendar.

River Centre Dog Show

It’s dog show time at the Saint Paul River Center. More than 2,000 canines will compete for best in show in the Land O’Lakes Kennel Club Dog Show Friday through Sunday.

Tickets are $8.50 for adultsm, $4.50 for children ages 4-12 and children 3 and under get in free with adult.

Home & Landscape Expo

Over at the Metrodome, 20,000 people are expected to attend the Home & Landscape Expo Friday through Sunday. The show will feature seminars, exhibits and demonstrations to help people with home improvement.

Tickets are $6.00 for adults, while children 17 and under are free.

Skate At The Landmark Center Ice Rink

Also, a reminder that downtown St. Paul’s ice rink is up and running for the season. Folks looking to burn off a little holiday energy and calories can skate daily for free.

The rink is in the heart of downtown St. Paul in Landmark Plaza, adjacent to Rice Park.
