Boy, 15, Critical After Chisago County Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition and four others suffered minor injuries after a multi-vehicle crash in Chisago County on Thursday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities said the crash happened at about 3:34 p.m. Thursday on Highway 61 south at 250th Street in Chisago County.

The State Patrol says a 36-year-old woman, 62-year-old man, 39-year-old man and 46-year-old woman all suffered minor injuries in the crash. A 2002 Chevy Malibu was heading southbound on Highway 61 when it stopped to make a left turn in front of Maranatha Church. A 1998 Ford van was southbound on Highway 61 and the driver was in the process of lowering a sun visor when it rear-ended the Malibu.

That caused the Malibu to crash into an oncoming vehicle, a 2002 Ford Windstar, and ejected the driver of the Malibu.

Authorities are still investigating the accident with help from the Forest Lake and Wyoming Police.
