ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) — A driver of an SUV apparently suffered a medical emergency, swerved off the road and struck St. Katharine/Drexel School in St. Cloud on Friday afternoon.
Though the four adults in the room at the time of the 2:41 p.m. crash were unscathed, they found the driver unconscious behind the wheel. Even after St. Cloud Firefighters and Goldcross paramedics performed life-saving efforts, the motorist died at the St. Cloud Hospital.
The crash did compromise the structural security of the building, and all students and staff were evacuated.
The identity of the driver has been withheld until his family has been notified.
