Old Dutch High School Athlete of the Week: Brindley Theisen

Brindley Theisen,
Sport – basketball
High School – St. Cloud Cathedral
Class – Sophomore

The sophomore scored a career-high 33 points Saturday in the Crusaders’ 70-60 win over crosstown rival St. Cloud Tech, pushing Cathedral’s record to 9-1. Theisen is a 6-foot-2 swing player who is leading the Crusaders in scoring, averaging 20.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game while shooting 82 percent from the free throw line. Over the holiday break he was named to the all-tournament team at the Crusader Christmas Classic. Brindley is a 4.0-plus student with a class load that includes AP Biology. He is involved in many community activities, including helping with the children’s liturgy on Sunday mornings at St. Paul’s Parish, officiating fifth and sixth grade basketball games and umpiring youth baseball. He also helps elderly neighbors with lawn and snow care when needed.
