CASS LAKE, Minn. (WCCO) — Authorities are investigating a tragic rollover Saturday afternoon that claimed the lives of two toddlers and a woman near Cass Lake.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2006 Dodge Dakota with four occupants was traveling eastbound on Highway 2, nine miles east of Cass Lake, in icy and slippery road conditions. The vehicle then lost control, left the roadway, hit trees and a stump, rolled and came to rest on its roof.
The deceased have been identified as 1-year-old Emma Statham, 3-year-old Jeremiah Statham and 27-year-old Catherine Statham, all of Foxworth, Miss.
The driver of the vehicle, 28-year-old Jermiah Statham, also of Foxworth, is in critical condition.
Cass Lake is located approximately 16 miles southeast of Bemidji, Minn.
