BIG LAKE, Minn. (WCCO) – A 39-year-old man from Big Lake was killed when his vehicle went off slick roads and crashed into a tree in Sherburne County Tuesday morning.
The county sheriff’s office says that Steven Barager was killed along County Road 15 just north of County Road 35 at about 5:30 a.m.
Barager was going south and had just passed another vehicle before losing control, according to witnesses who saw the crash.
The road conditions were described as slick by investigators.
Throughout northwestern and west-central Minnesota, State Troopers reported responding to 21 crashes and 26 incidents of vehicles going off the road.
Authorities said that this marks the second fatal accident on County Road 15 in less than a month.
