MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The coach of the Maple Grove Senior High hockey team was placed back on the job Friday evening after being put on paid administrate due to a complaint investigation, a school district spokesperson said.
Gary Stefano was put on leave after a complaint was brought against him Thursday. During his coaching leave, he continued to teach at the school.
Stefano found himself on leave, per school protocol, so that a thorough investigation could be completed after the hockey team was connected to an off-campus incident in December that resulted in the suspension of several Crimson Flyers.
Stefano has coached with the school’s hockey team for 17 years.
