Electric Co-Op: Voluntarily Conserve Energy On Frigid Days

HENNEPIN COUNTY (WCCO) -- With extreme low temperatures on Sunday and Monday, the Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association is asking members to voluntarily conserve energy from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on both days.

The association says there's enough power to meet demand, but recommends waiting until after 10 p.m. to use appliances such as washing machines and dryers. It also says to use a microwave or toaster oven instead of a full-size electric oven.

Other advice includes charging phones and electrical devices after 10 p.m.
