ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – The goal Tuesday night for the Wild is to move to 3-0.
But for Ryan Suter? His is to beat his former team. That’s Nashville, the franchise he left to join the Wild.
It’s a different kind of game playing former teammates and Suter had to endure the questions he expected about his former home.
“Obviously it’s going to be hard every time you play against your old team,” Suter said. “Especially when you had the relationship I had with the players, and the organization.”
So far in this early season, Suter’s done what the Wild thought he would — play maximum minutes, and play the game the way it’s supposed to be played.
So far, the Wild have been what Suter expected them to be.
“Guys here are great, great teammates and the coaching staff are great,” Suter said. “It’s been pretty smooth.”
