MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials with the American Red Cross say there’s an urgent need for two different types of blood and they’re encouraging people to donate.

A spokesperson for the Red Cross in the Twin Cities said there is an urgent need for the O-negative and B-negative blood types. Red Cross officials said overall their blood supply is stable, but they are always looking for people to donate blood.

The spokesperson said it takes about an hour to give blood. For more information on how to donate blood, head to the American Red Cross web site.
