MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities in St. Cloud are asking the public’s help in finding a man who allegedly tried to rob a Target store Thursday and ended up brandishing a folding knife before an employee.
Just before 11:30 a.m., officers responded to a shoplifting-in-progress call at the Target store located on the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue, the St. Cloud Police Department said. When they got to the store, the officers learned that a man, who looked to be in his mid 20s, was suspected of stealing electronics.
They also learned that when a loss prevention officer confronted the man outside the store, he took out a folding knife and pointed it at the employee. The employee was not injured.
The man, who was wearing a dark blue coat and a dark hoodie with white lettering, left the Target in a minivan, possibly a Dodge, with a dark-colored luggage rack on top.
Surveillance video caught images of both. The man can be seen above, the van below.
If you have any information on the suspect or the incident, call St. Cloud Police at 320-251-1200 or Crimestoppers 320-255-1301.
