MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person was killed and another was hurt after a one-vehicle crash in western Wisconsin Thursday night, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.
Authorities said the crash happened at about 6:48 p.m. near the area of Highway 53 and County Highway I near Chetek, Wis.
When authorities got to the scene, they found a vehicle on its roof on the off-ramp. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene and a passenger had been seriously hurt.
The Wisconsin State Patrol said it was snowing at the time of the crash and the road had a light coating and was slippery. The name of the victim has yet been released pending the notification of family, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation with assistance from the Barron County Sheriff’s Office.
