2 Wis. Teens Die When Car Collides With School Bus

NEW LONDON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin troopers say a car rounded a curve and collided with an oncoming school bus, killing the two teens in the car. Three children in the bus and the bus driver were treated for minor injuries.

The State Patrol says the collision happened Friday about 10 p.m. near New London in Waupaca County.

Authorities say the school bus was carrying 39 children, two adult chaperones and the driver. They were returning to New London Middle School after a ski trip.

Troopers say the car was rounding a curve when it veered into the oncoming bus. They say slippery roads may have been a factor.

The victims were a girl from Weyauwega and a boy from New London, both 17. Neither was wearing a seatbelt.
