Nebraska-Omaha Tips Bemidji St. 2-1

BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) — Dominic Zombo scored the game-winner early in the second period and Nebraska-Omaha held on to beat Bemidji State 2-1 in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game on Saturday.

UNO goalie John Faulkner made 22 saves, including eight in the third period.

Zombo scored at 1:56 of the second period to snap a 1-1 tie. The Mavericks (15-9-2, 11-5-2) had tied it midway through the first period on a goal by Josh Archibald.

Bemidji State (5-14-5, 4-10-4), which is winless in its last eight games, grabbed a 1-0 lead on Aaron McLeod's goal at 7:48 of the first period.

Beavers goalie Mathieu Dugas made 24 saves.
