LAKE PEPIN (WCCO) — Warm temperatures and last night’s rain didn’t make ideal conditions for the World Cup Ice Boating competition on Lake Pepin Tuesday. But racers from eight different countries say they’re happy to find any good piece of ice this winter.
Competitors only had a few days’ notice of where the race would be. Unlike other sports, there’s no cash prize. The winner gets a trophy and bragging rights.
