Timberwolves Sign Johnson, Gelabale To 10-Day Contracts

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A day after their original contracts expired, the Minnesota Timberwolves announced Tuesday they've signed Chris Johnson and Mickael Gelabale to 10-day contracts for the second time.

The two were signed to their first 10-day contracts back on Jan. 19. They came to fill voids left by the injured Kevin Love and Nikola Pekovic. Love is out until late March after having surgery on his broken shooting hand, while Pekovic missed time with an injured ankle but was back at practice Monday.

Johnson has appeared in five games with the Timberwolves, averaging 9.2 points and 3.8 rebounds. Gelabale has appeared in five games and is averaging 7.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.

The Timberwolves face the Los Angeles Clippers Wednesday night at Target Center.
