MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Los Angeles Clippers forward Matt Barnes was given a flagrant foul-2 and ejected in the second quarter against Minnesota on Wednesday night after delivering a forearm to Wolves center Greg Stiemsma.
Stiemsma went to set a screen at the top of the key on Barnes, who tried to shove his way through it. Barnes then hit Stiemsma with a forearm to the chin and was immediately whistled for a foul. After reviewing the play, officials deemed it a flagrant-2, which carries an automatic ejection. Barnes was furious with the decision and argued before heading to the locker room.
It’s the second ejection of the season for Barnes and seventh of his career.
Moments later, Stiemsma was given a flagrant-one foul for shoving Grant Hill under the basket.
