MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minneapolis Fire Department recently accepted applications for the first time since 2006. Since then, more than 2,000 people applied. It's the first step in a process that will include a written exam, oral interview and then an intense physical fitness test.
Frank and Amelia had the chance to try the intense 10-minute firefighting physical test. As you can imagine, it was tough.
The eight-part test, called the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT), was built to simulate the actions and exertions of working firefighters. It's used by 400 departments around the country.
