MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Department of Health said that there were 15 more deaths in the last week as a result of the flu outbreak.
That brings the season’s total for Minnesota up to 127. Last week marked the fifth week of the flu season, as tracked by the MDH.
Also, the MDH reported that 108 people were hospitalized with laboratory-confirmed influenza during week 5.
The report, which was released Thursday, states 2,612 people have been hospitalized due to the flu since the beginning of the season.
Ninetween schools reported outbreaks of influenza-like illness last week, bring the season’s total number to 434.
