The music from love stories and a thriller were the GRAMMY winners tonight for the best music from stage and screen.

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross now have yet another award for their score to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.  The Golden Globe winning music won a GRAMMY for the Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media.

Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media went to the diverse music for Woody Allen’s romantic film Midnight in Paris, starring Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams.  Among the fellow nominees it beat tonight included the all-star soundtrack to the musical turned movie, Rock of Ages.

The award for Best Musical Theater Album went to 8 time Tony award winner
