MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — With Valentine’s Day just a couple of days away, there’s a lot of talk about love right now. But what if you are struggling with your relationship with your significant other?
Angela Davis talked with a professor who teaches classes in family studies and communication at the University of St. Thomas.
Dr. Carol Bruess, the author of the book “What Happy Couples Do: The Loving Little Rituals of Romance,” has interviewed hundreds of couples over the years in her research. Her book is full of examples of little things that some couples do, that have big impact.
“Sometimes it is a special place, sometimes it is a special time of day,” she said. “One couple for instance has their special time. Whenever it is 11:11 on the clock, when they see it, even if they can’t call of text the other, they think one another. They are two opportunities every day to catch 11:11 on the clock.”
The point is to pick one thing a day that you intentionally do, to recognize your significant other.
