2 Adults, Cats Found Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide

RAMSEY, Minn. (WCCO) -- Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide case in Ramsey, Minn.

Officers with the Ramsey Police Department say they were dispatched to a home on the 8500 block of 176th Lane Northwest at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. They were performing a welfare check after a relative reported receiving an email with "suicidal overtures."

Police said they arrived at the home to see that no new footprints had been made, nor any vehicle tracks over the snow that had fallen over the weekend.

Officers entered the home and found 67-year-old Caron Margaret Fine and a 65-year-old Mitchell Wolfe Fine dead in a bedroom. Both had gunshot wounds to the head. Preliminary findings suggest that the woman was dead before the man.

Police said there were also a number of pet cats found shot dead inside the house.

The victims were not immediately identified. Police say they are not seeking any suspects.
