MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – George Strait is playing at the Xcel Energy Center Friday night in what he’s calling “The Cowboy Rides Away Tour.”
Mick Anselmo, who manages BUZ’N 102.9, says while it may be his last big tour, Strait will still play.

“So he’s still going to play many times, and ‘one offs’ and arena shows,” Anselmo said. “If he would have wanted to, [he] would have never had to tour outside the state of Texas. He’s the King.”
Strait is about to make music history as well with his new single, “Give It All We Got Tonight.” It would be his 60th number one hit in 60 years.
“Overall as an entertainer, to bring that many generations and still see him as the ‘King’ – and they refer to him that way, as the ‘King’ – is spectacular,” said Anselmo.
Strait says he plans to spend more time on his ranch, and with his new grandchild.
