MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — Six different players scored goals as Minnesota State, Mankato beat Michigan Tech 6-1 Saturday to move into second place in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
The Mavericks (20-9-3, 14-9-1) started the weekend tied for fifth in the tightly packed WCHA race. Its 29 points are second to St. Cloud State’s 31.
Matt Leitner, Zach Lehrke, Brett Knowles and Dylan Margonari had a goal and assist apiece for MSUM, which was outshot 38-28. Goalie Stephon Williams made 18 of his 37 saves in the third period.
C.J. Eick scored the only goal for the Huskies (9-16-4, 6-14-4).
