MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A driver has died in a crash on an icy highway in Yellow Medicine County early Monday morning, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

At 7:33 a.m., the State Patrol says a 2003 Honda Civic was northbound on Highway 23, just south of County Road 17, while a 2007 GMC Sierra was traveling southbound on Highway 23. The second vehicle then lost control, slid sideways, crossed the center line and collided with the first vehicle.

The driver of the Honda Civic was killed.

The other driver has been identified as 50-year-old Jennifer Henslin of Granite Falls, Minn. She suffered minor injuries.

The identity of the deceased driver has not been released, but more information is expected later.

Granite Falls Ambulance, Fire and Rescue assisted on the scene.
