ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – The City of St. Paul announced Tuesday it has finalized a contract with Ryan Companies to build the stadium that will be the new home of the St. Paul Saints.

Officials chose Ryan Companies in January after a lengthy review showed they had the best written proposal, budget proposal and through an interview process. In the deal, Ryan Companies will design the stadium for $1.72 million. Once that’s completed, they’ll finish up estimated construction costs and round out the final budget for the project.

Officials said construction is slated to begin on the ballpark in the fall of 2013 and is expected to be completed by the spring of 2015. The Lowertown Regional Ballpark is expected to bring in around 400,000 people per year to downtown St. Paul. The project is expected to create 500 full and part-time jobs.
