Fire Displaces Family Of 6 In St. Bonifacius

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities say six people, including four children, are without a home after a fire in St. Bonifacius Thursday night.

Crews responded to the 3500 block of Evergreen Lane in St. Bonifacius at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday on a report of a fire in the garage of a home. Shortly after the homeowner discovered the fire, there was an explosion in the garage.

When authorities arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames. Two adults and four children lived at the residence, and authorities said everyone made it out safely. As many as six departments responded to the fire.

The American Red Cross has been called into provide emergency disaster relief for the family. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The house was completely destroyed in the fire.
