MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Workers who clean stores across the Twin Cities say they’ll go on strike Tuesday morning.
Workers who clean stores across the Twin Cities are protesting Tuesday outside of the Target store on Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis. The 400 cleaning workers work for contractors that partner with retail stores like Target, Kmart and Sears.
Representatives say the workers have been trying to form a union for years. Protests and rallies are planned all week as workers are fighting for increased wages and better working conditions.
