CAMBRIDGE, Minn. (WCCO) – More than a hundred Minnesota National Guard Soldiers said goodbye to their families.
Sunday, the soldiers’ families packed into Cambridge High School for a send-off ceremony.
The troops are heading overseas to Afghanistan — many of them for their first deployment.
The Minnesota-based soldiers are part of an engineer company and will operate heavy equipment, repair and maintain roads and train the Afghan Army in construction.
