MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Minneapolis Police officer suffered minor injuries Monday afternoon in downtown Minneapolis when his marked squad car was broadsided by a limousine.

Sgt. Stephen McCarty said the incident happened just after 1 p.m. at the intersection of 3rd Avenue South and 7th Street.

The injured officer, who was not named, was brought to the Hennepin County Medical Center for precautionary measures.

McCarty described the incident as a traffic accident.
