MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO — A 33-year-old Minnesota trucker is in the burn center after getting shocked and thrown off of his trailer during a Thursday morning incident at Toy’s Scrap and Salvage in Eau Claire, Wis., police say.
Investigators say the Northern Metal Recycling employee stopped his tractor/trailer unit in the parking lot at Toy’s Scrap and Salvage to cover his load. The trailer was equipped with a mechanized tarp roller, which then came into contact with an overhead power line.
The trucker was thrown clear off the truck after the electrical shock, and the spark caused a small fire within the load, too.
The man was transported by Eau Claire Fire and Rescue and later transferred to a regional burn center.
