Off The Menu Guests From Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl: 3/2/13

Each week on “Off the Menu” with Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl, we’ll spotlight the people doing amazing things with food and drink!  Local farmers, experts in food, wine, beer and spirits, chefs, restaurant owners and much more will be joining Dara Saturday mornings to talk about what is happening around the region.  Check back weekly for updates!

Guest on 3/2/13:

  • Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine’s Wine Expert Bill Coy joined Dara to talk Prosecco.  It’s a great “bargain” Italian bubbly wine which continues to grow in popularity each year.  A great choice for when the weather starts to warm up!
  • Jodi Ohlsen Read is a Sheppard and Cheesemaker from Nerstrand, MN.  Jodi and her husband Steve run a family farm called Sheppard’s Way where they raise sheep and make some of the midwest’s finest sheepsmilk cheese.  In January, 2005, an arsonist set fire to a barn which killed 500 sheep, many just lambs (read more here).  But after spending a few years rebuilding the farm, the Ohlsen’s are again making amazing cheese as Dara found out last Saturday!
