BROWNSDALE, Minn. (WCCO) – A baby with HIV who was taken from his parents by Mower County officials has returned home. But the custody fight for Rico Martinez-Nagel isn’t over.
Mower County worried about Rico’s medical care after his family missed two doctor’s appointments. The county took him from his home in Brownsdale seven weeks ago. When he wouldn’t take a bottle he had to be hospitalized.
The county allowed his family to take him home Saturday, but they still aren’t considered his legal guardians again.
The county will meet with the parents on Monday to decide what happens next.
