MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Senior forward Trevor Mbakwe was selected third team All-Big Ten by the coaches and second team All-Big Ten by the media on Monday.

Sophomore guard Andre Hollins was also named honorable mention Big Ten by coaches and third team All-Big Ten, the conference announced Monday. The honors come after the conference concluded its regular season on Sunday and heads to its postseason tournament later this week.

Mbakwe earned second team All-Big Ten honors back in the 2010-11 season. He led the conference in rebounding this year with almost nine per game, including 3.3 offensive rebounds per game. Mbakwe also ranked third in field goal percentage (56.6 percent), and blocks per game (1.5).

Hollins finishd 10th in the Big Ten in the regular season in scoring, averaging 13.9 points per game. He also ranked sixth in three-point percent at 40.1 percent and shot 80 percent from the free-throw line. Hollins also averaged 3.5 assists per game.

The Gophers (20-11, 8-10) face Illinois in the Big Ten Tournament at 11 a.m. Thursday in Chicago, with the winner advancing to play top seeded Indiana.
