MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time to start planning some weekend fun! Sunday is St. Patrick’s Day, so that means everyone will be tapping into the luck of the Irish. Get green this weekend with St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in St. Paul and Minneapolis.

Get Lucky 7K
The Get Lucky 7K and half marathon races are Irish-themed runs that cover both Minneapolis and St. Paul. If you want to kick off your St. Patrick’s Weekend with a long run, try the Get Lucky Triple 7K– also known as a Half Marathon. That takes place downtown St. Paul. If a shorter race is more your thing, try the 7k along the Mississippi river in Minneapolis.

St. Patrick’s Day Parades
The biggest St. Patrick’s Day event is the annual parade in downtown St. Paul. The parade begins at noon Saturday, the day before St. Patrick’s Day. And in the evening, there is a second St. Patrick’s Day parade in downtown Minneapolis. The parade begins at 6.30 p.m. on Nicollet Mall at 11th Street, heading up the mall to 5th Street.
